Controller
The controller for the processing described here is the operator of REPLAYD, identified at the foot of the Terms of Service. Contact: [email protected].
This website
The site is static and is served by Cloudflare, Inc. Serving a page involves processing the request: the address requested, your IP address, and the identification your browser sends. Cloudflare processes this to deliver the site and to protect it from abuse, and retains it for a limited period under its own terms. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking of its own.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating and securing the site (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
The application
REPLAYD stores its settings, game list and log on your own machine, under %APPDATA%\REPLAYD, and writes recordings and screenshots to the folders you choose. None of this is transmitted to us. The application contains no analytics or telemetry.
When update checking is on, the application requests a small version file from this site, and if the site is unreachable, from a mirror hosted on GitHub. Like any web request, this discloses your IP address to the host serving it. The request carries no identifier, account or information about your machine or its use, and we keep no record of it beyond the host's standard access logs described above. Update checking, downloading and installing are on by default; each can be turned off under Settings, Updates.
To show League of Legends champion and item pictures, the application downloads each one once from Riot Games' Data Dragon (ddragon.leagueoflegends.com) and keeps it on your machine. Like any web request, this discloses your IP address to Riot; the request names only the picture it asks for.
To issue and renew licenses, the application contacts our licensing server with a one-way hash of your Windows installation ID. When starting the free trial, it also sends one-way hashes of your motherboard and system disk identifiers, so the trial is offered once per computer. These cannot be turned back into the original identifiers, and nothing else about you is sent. Legal basis: contract (art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in one trial per computer (art. 6(1)(f)). Kept while the license exists, and trial records while the free trial is offered.
A license works on one device at a time. While REPLAYD is recording, it holds an open connection to the licensing server so that starting on another device stops the first one; the server keeps this only for as long as the connection lasts, and never writes down that you were recording, or when. If you check a license out to use it without a connection, the server does store which device has it and the date it frees up, so your other devices can be told; that ends the moment the device is online again, or when you hand it back.
Purchases
The 30-day trial requires no data from you. If you subscribe, the purchase is made through Paddle.com Market Ltd, the merchant of record, which acts as the seller and processes your name, email address, payment details and billing country to take payment, issue invoices and account for tax. Paddle is an independent controller for that processing; its privacy policy applies.
We receive from Paddle the email address used for the purchase and the status of the subscription, and use them to issue and maintain your license and to answer questions about it. We do not receive your payment details.
After a purchase, we email your license key to that address. If you ask for your key on the Find your key page, we ask Paddle which purchases were made with the address you enter, and email their keys to that address only; the page never shows them. To stop that form being used to flood an inbox, the licensing server keeps a keyed one-way hash of the address and of your IP address for up to three days, deleted by a daily cleanup. These emails are sent through Cloudflare's Email Service, and the licensing server does not keep your email address. Legal basis for the request limit: our legitimate interest in preventing abuse (art. 6(1)(f)).
Legal basis: performance of the contract with you (art. 6(1)(b)). Retention: for the duration of the subscription and for as long afterwards as is required to handle claims and meet legal obligations.
Correspondence
If you write to us, we process what you send and the address you send it from in order to reply. Legal basis: legitimate interest in responding (art. 6(1)(f)), or the contract where the message concerns a purchase. Retention: for as long as needed to deal with the matter.
Recipients and transfers
Personal data is disclosed only to the providers named above, Cloudflare for serving the site and sending our emails, Paddle for purchases, GitHub for the update mirror, Riot Games for the League of Legends pictures, and the provider of our support mailbox, each for its own purpose. Some of them process data outside the European Economic Area; where they do, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers offer, including the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We do not sell personal data, and no decision affecting you is made by automated means.
Your rights
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection provided by the GDPR, exercisable by writing to the address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Spain that is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, aepd.es.
Changes
If the processing described here changes, this page will be updated before the change takes effect, and the date below revised.
